Scotland 20.7. – 26. 7. 2008

Our journey to Scotland wasn't very long.

When we came to Inveraray Youth Hostel early in the morning (around 00.30), there were groups from Slovakia, England, Scotland and Greece already waiting for us.

Through the week we were working at workshops in Auchindrain museum. We had really good time there and ...   more »

A Combined Report in low resolution PDF is attached

Thanks to EUCC-Poland for hosting our visit, in particular Pawel Terefenko and Rafal Benedyczak for giving up a week of their time to show us around so many fantastic places. They worked tirelessly and with great humour to make our trip the success it was. They looked after us really well and their organisational skills were very impressive to keep the team on time , well fed and fully informed! Pawels translations were invaluable and his knowledge of Polish history greatly added to our understanding of issues that surround land use in Poland. We were very lucky to have such good guides and it was great to get to know them.

Habsberg was just as well located, but provided exceptional accommodation and surroundings. As for the visits, all were well chosen and had merits. I would definitely recommend    more »

It is easy to become entrenched in certain ways of approaching things, or of doing things. It has been very enlightening to travel to another country and to see how things are approached and carried out in another culture. This Nature Exchange trip has provided me with much food for thought, and I have spent much time ruminating since my return, pondering the comparisons between our two countries’ approach to conservation, and to our relationship with the natural world.   more »
